Larissa holds a B.Sc. in Population Health & Quantitative Sciences and Certificates in Health Ethics and Social Innovation from Simon Fraser University (SFU). Born in Guangzhou, China, she now resides in Toronto, Ontario. As a Program Manager and licensed insurance agent, Larissa oversees plan and program setup, as well as ongoing service, administration, communications, and operational activities. With over nine years of experience in health innovation and digital media communications, she excels in developing student-centered strategies that promote health and well-being in the post-secondary landscape. Her work has been showcased at the International Union of Health Promotion and Education.

Previously, Larissa served a two-year term as President and VP of Student Services for the Simon Fraser Student Society and a three-year term as a Senator on the SFU Senate. During her time at SFU, she led initiatives to enhance mental health resources, sexual violence education and policy development, student engagement, large-scale events, and campaigns. She also advocated for greater support for international students and accessible learning. Larissa contributed to SFU’s Sexual Violence & Misconduct University Committee, helping to develop the first standalone Sexual Violence & Misconduct Policy in response to BC Bill 23. She facilitated town halls with over 5,000 participants, created educational videos, designed awareness campaigns, workshops, and events, and was part of the inaugural active bystander collective at SFU.
